The correct answer must be "C" It is clearly stated in the last sentence of the paragraph.

I also got confused. Apparently option 'C' is the right answer but @Prayesh is right.

If we compare both option A & C. We would see that A is comparatively a better option.

Mahatma Gandhi thought that industrialization is not the solution to the problems so he does not support industrialization the correct answer is C I guess.

Mathani Gandhi believed in the industrialization of the country but industrialization was no answer to the problems that plagued the India's poor and the last sentence says "such an idyllic and rural paradise did not appear " not "was not shared " so the correct answer is A not C.

I think the answer is C. "Those who inherited political powers after independence".

The last line in the passage tells that C is the right option.

Option A is incorrect as Mahatma Gandhi never believed Industrialization could solve problem of poor.

Also any one believing in Industrialization will oppose Mahatma Gandhi's view. Hence the Best answer possible is Option C.

Option A is correct, its confusing though as they have used negative sentences. For instance, it may stand for:

"Mahatma Gandhi's dream of 'an idyllic and rural paradise' was shared by those who did believe in the industrialisation of the country".

I suppose it should have been 'those who inherited political powers after independence' I am concluding this from the last sentence of the paragraph.
