But I did not want to shoot the elephant. I watched him beating his bunch of grass against his knees, with the preoccupied grandmotherly air that elephants have. It seemed to me that it would be murder to shoot him. I had never shot an elephant and never wanted to. (Somehow it always seems worse to kill large animal.) Besides, there was the beast's owner to be considered. But I had got to act quickly. I turned to some experienced-looking Burmans who had been there when we arrived, and asked them how the elephants had been behaving. They all said the same thing; he took no notice of you if you left him alone, but he might charge if you went too close to him.

The line ''I had never shot an elephant and never wanted to''. It suggests that the author has an inexperience of killing animals like an elephant, so killing an elephant will be a murder to him. B is my answer.

The line, "I had never shot an elephant and never wanted to". It shows that he is inexperienced in killing elephants and it also states that he has killed animals, that is, he is not inexperienced.

"I had never shot an elephant" It suggests that he might have no experience. So, I agree with the answer.

I think it's C because the lines "It seemed to me that it would be murder to shoot him. I had never shot an elephant and never wanted to. " shows that he was more considerate. His inexperience is just a secondary reason why he's not shooting the animal.

The answer is to be C because the author tells in the paragraph.

" I had never shot an elephant and never wanted to. (Somehow it always seems worse to kill large animal. ) " it shows that he had no experience to kill large animals.

The very first line clearly indicates that the author doesn't want to kill the elephant and the last two lines show that the elephant was not doing anybody any harm. According to me, author was more concerned about the nature of the elephant than his experience, so, he did not want to shoot the elephant. OPTION-C.

According to me the correct is C. The sentence "And never wanted to" makes this very clear.

from above statement answer should be C

Answer should be B. Since it is not mentioned in para about killing animals which are not doing any harm. So by our own we can't assume option c. But he felt it is worse to kill large animal (given in para). So the correct option is only B.
