Candid means frank, which means to the point of being direct. So being ambiguous will be the opposite as it means being confusing.
So, option E will be right, as it is saying he is usually clear and direct but his speech today was not clear, it was confusing.

Candid means impartial and clear, it means giving clear statements.
So against to this he has given ambigious statements.
