Resist means tolerate, accept.
Anything opposite of resist must be fight.

Resist does not mean tolerate.

It means (combat) OR (not allowing the action or effect of something, on the other thing).

So the answer must be (welcome) because by (not restricting), you (welcome) something (acceptance) is a later issue. Which depends on the individual.
