Answer is correct, 'dull' means also a person who is not intelligent or very slow.

It could be dull, only if the bold words were 'intelligent but proud', and that is also very slippery ground.

I do not agree that the opposite of intelligent can be dull.
I was in doubt as to whether it could have been simple, but chose ignorant as the best option. What do you think?
