TCS Interview Experience - SRM IST JULY 2019

Posted By : Kannan Iragavarapu Rating : +161, -8
Hello guys, I am sure that the placement season has begun and that's what brings you guys here !

The first point to be noted is that whether the recruitment by TCS is ONCAMPUS or OFF-CAMPUS in my case it was ONCAMPUS (SRM IST, KTR camp) and my experience is as follows.

TCS have changed their recruitment pattern ever since July 2018, by keeping a national level exam (TCSNQT) -[TCS National Qualifier Test] and don't worry though being a national wide test, if it is an on-campus company coming then it would for sure take most of the students during my time it almost took.

1600 students from the applied 3000 students, be good enough with your aptitude and verbal part to be 1600.(2000[approx] qualified the exam).

If you have cleared the exam then the battle is 75% in your court and its the way present during the interview, you will be called to their base office (TCS kovilambakam in my case) and there will be bulk interviews happening like there will be a table, wherein 3 people (1 HR 1 -TECH 1- TECH HR) , they will go through your profile /resume and ask the questions based on what you actually put in and so don't try to be over smart and put yourself into trouble, just put all the skills you are perfect with and be confident when you answer, my experience is as follows.

INT1 - Quickly introduce yourself?
ME - Answered.

INT1 - So you interested in networking right?
ME - Yes sir!

INT 1 - which one do you prefer Programming or Networking?
ME - I wasn't well versed with networking so I chose to program.

INT1 - Me being from ECE I only knew C programming to a certain level, and said the interviewer the Same and he asked to me with a code to sort the data using structures (given data of students, roll.no etc).

ME - Did it, though with some mistakes he corrected me and I again did the correct one.

INT 2 (HR) - Do you have any working constraints like a place, time, etc.
ME - No sir!

The third person usually sits with a laptop and doesn't ask anything instead he gives marks for you, for your fluency in English, problem-solving skills, etc and marks whether you are selected or not.

TIP - It is okay if you haven't cleared me the coding question, clear the aptitude and that will fetch you the ticket to the next round.

D-DAY - Got placed in TCS!
