TCS Interview Experience - Bhopal, MP 27/08/2019

Posted By : Sahil Shukla Rating : +98, -6
I gave the TCS NQT 2020, which was an online test.

I was shortlisted for the TR & HR rounds (I got a mail from TCS that I have been selected for interview).

It was an online interview, there were 2 TRs and 1 HR mam. One of the TR was about 40-45 years old and other was about 27-30 years old.

TR Questions :-

1). Hello Sahil..... So tell me about yourself.

Ans:- I gave my introduction & told about my education, hobbies which includes learning about SPACE & ELECTRONICS.

2). So Sahil, You told me that your hobby is learning about space, Now tell me have you watched the movie " MANGALYAAN"?

Ans:- Yes, of course sir!.

3). What you love most about space?

Ans:- Sir I love to learn about the geometry of the space, how stars were formed?, how the big bang happens?,  is there any life beyond our universe?, etc.

4). But TCS doesn't have any space related project... Why would you want to work here?

Ans:- TCS do work in the field of AUTOMATION & IOT, I am also an electronics lover so I can work there for the organisation.

5). Now Sahil, Tell me about your project..;

Ans:- I have done 18 projects in the 3 years of my engineering..(TR interrupts me & asks once again).

6). What did you just said? One-eight eighteen!!;

Ans:- Yes sir 18 projects (TR : That's Fantastic!!).

7). Do you have done any project related to space?

Ans:- No sir , I have not done any project related to space but my college organised a 7 day training on RC AIRCRAFT & QUAD ROTOR so I learned very much from that training.

I learned how an RC aircraft & DRONE works , how they control their motion, how thrust is generated & how to communicate with RC aircraft's & drones.

8). What was your biggest project?

Ans:- Sir my biggest project was a Line mesh solver robot, which runs on a white path on black surface & then calculates the shortest path among all the paths.

9). So Sahil, in your projects.. Which language did you used?

Ans:- I used Arduino in my projects & that requires embedded C to write programs.

10). Can you tell me the difference in C & Python.

Ans :- Told the differences between C & Python.

11). Do you know about  database management? (I really don't know about database).

Ans: No sir, my branch is ECE so I don't know about anything about database management.

12). Okay, do you know any database software names?(which I don't know, but I gave a blind shot).

Ans:- They might be MS WORD or tally.....( I was totally wrong but TR didn't tell me that).

13). So Sahil, in any of your projects did you thought  that your project may require a database to store the data.

Ans:- Yes sir..... in the VISITOR COUNTER project i thought there might be a database which have to store the number of persons entered in the room.( at what time how many persons were in the room, etc) But i don't know how to combine a C program to a database management software, so i was unable to implement that on my project.

14). Your interest is towards Electronics..  When you thought that you have to learn programming & why?

Ans:- In the 4th semester, I made a project called " Ultrasonic distance measurement" (I explained about it) it was required to do programming of that circuit, it was done by my friend. At that time I thought that I have to learn programming.

15). Which language do you love & what programming language would you suggest to the upcoming generation?

Ans:- Sir I love C the most because it taught me about the fundamentals of programming but it is a very old language so I suggest newbies(new people) to learn python 3.

Now the TR transfers the headphone to HR (which was a lady).

1). Hi Sahil... (I said hello mam) , Do you have any particular choice for the job?

Ans:- No mam i don't have any particular preference of city for job.

2). If you join TCS then tell me about any city you have preference about, Any city in your mind.

Ans : Bombay(Mumbai).

3). What do you know about TCS? excluding REVENUE, CEO, MD, MNC, etc.

Ans :- TCS has a business model which is known as 4.0(four point zero) that is learned from a SWEDEN company that says - when a company/project is falling then that is the right time for the raising of that company/project.

4). So Sahil... suppose a situation in which you have given a project of IOT & your team is working on it, then the HR comes & tells you that you have to go to the project which is not IOT based, which is purely out of your working field for example CLOUD COMPUTING, then how would you handle the situation?

Ans:- Mam first of all I will learn about the techniques which are used in my upcoming project and who are working on them, I will fetch all the details about the project which is coming in my hand & then I will improve my knowledge and give my 100% to that project. I will also provide input to the IOT project which I have left so it may become much better.

5). Is a fresher what would you expect from TCS?

Ans: Mam I want to learn about the working of the organisation, how the projects are made, how clients are handled, how the employees work on a project, the environment of the company, etc.

& finally she told me about all the terms & conditions (about the Bond, CTC, what if i break the bond, etc.).

I agreed all the terms & then I asked about the name of her & finally said thank you.

Waiting for the result, Hoping for the best.
