TCS Interview Experience - TCS Hyderabad, 7th March 2019
For the off-campus drive, there were 2 rounds.
Round 1- Here is your national level test for TCS where I believe you have to be prepared with quant, it's of a medium level so you gotta be all geared up to crack this. Plus if you are from CS IT or ECE branch brush up your programming skills of basic programs like Fibonacci series, prime number and stuff like that.
People from other branch need to go through programming once. For this round to be on the safer side as off-campus always tend to be a bit difficult from on campus you have to start preparing from 7-10 days before if you think you are decent with the required skills. I in my test got the question like.
Q1] WAP to see if the number is prime or not and if it is prime print the cube of the number and if it is not then print the square of the number.
So they will try to merge 2 basic programs altogether. One glance is required.
After this, you will get the result in 2-3 days.
Round 2: Once you are selected in this then it will be easier for you. Second round is TR, MR, HR. They mostly club these round so you will be facing 3 people at a time and trust me it won't be hard. For TR prepare your resume well, your projects, languages that you have mentioned because they will ask basic things from your mentioned languages like C, Java etc.
During my interview, they asked me to write a program for even number and also swapping of 2 variables without using the third variable. Since I am from ECE background they asked me basic questions like what does transistor do, zener diode, op-amp and please go through their symbols. I was very fortunate enough that they didn't ask me much.
For HR I will just suggest you to be calm enough. They will be the sweetest among the people sitting in that room so give your best performance over there. Be confident but make sure you are not overconfident. Even if you are scared as hell just for 15 mins act it out. Act and make them believe that you are the only candidate that they have ever been looking. Please smile that's one of the rare traits you will encounter in interviews. ALL THE BEST!
Ps: Give your best and Believe in yourself. By chance, if it doesn't work out then move ahead and encounter another one.
