TCS Interview Questions and Experience - TCS Bhubaneswar, 27th September 2018
Step 1: The initial thing is to register yourself for the National Qualifier Test(TCS Ninja).
Step 2: The written round for this above-mentioned test is not that difficult. But You have to manage your time and practice some basic coding problems and cover some basic concepts of Data Structure. Here I won't mention the written pattern because There are tons of Sites which go through this. Practice Questions from PrepInsta, IndiaBix. IndiaBix is more than enough if you practice hard to clear the written Test.
Step 3: After Giving the written, Within 4 -5 days you will get an email regarding your clearance i.e whether you are selected for Interview Round or not.
Step 4: Once you are selected for Interview round, There is a huge chance you will get selected. But Hard Work is the key.
Now let me go through my Interview Experience:
I was a bit confident, anxious and Nervous about what to happen in the technical round.
Basically, All three rounds i.e TR, MR, HR will take place at a time but sometimes HR round will be done separately. I fell into the second case(First Technical Round Second HR round).
First wished them Good Afternoon. And then I felt a bit comfort over there. Then he started throwing questions at me
Q. He Covered my Resume and asked me to explain all the projects that I have mentioned serially (Details). I Explained to him thoroughly, I made him understand that what actually was my contribution to the project.
Q. Why did you use MongoDB over RDBMS for Project?
Q. Why did you use Python and what made you do this Project and why machine Learning?
Q. He said. OK let's switch to java. Rate yourself out of 10 for Java.
My answer was 8/10 because I was more confident about java. I practiced a lot with real-life examples as well as coding. I was very clear about the Concepts.
Q. What is Class and Object with the real-life example.
Q. Write any program with the clear format of java language. Here be clear. Here the Interviewer is trying to grasp how much dynamic you are. Do you follow the shortcuts(easy) or any simple program with input class and try to explain the logic.
Q. What is a reference variable and object with an example.
Q. Do You know DBMS? What are DDL and DML? Write a query to delete a specific row in a table.
Q. Define Join and what are the types of join. I Forgot to mention self-join so he asked me a query related to self-join which I could not do.
Q. Why TCS? What will you choose Google or TCS? Here be honest and be prepared with a Reason to explain your option.
Q.What is 1/6?
I answered everything Perfectly I was a bit happy and I was confident about what I was saying because Hard work always pays off. Be dynamic and Just get involved in what they are asking. Do not Loose Confidence.
Now they asked to wait for the HR round.
After lunch, I had my HR round.
Q. Whats the meaning of your name?
Q. Give me your file(All the certificates and Marksheets). He calculated my marks and verified whether my percentage is exact what i have mentioned there.
Q. What is your Hobby? (I mentioned writing stories and Experiences)
Q. Why dont you aspire for becoming an Author. (He suggested me to focus on writing and all)
Q. Are you open to relocation? If Yes What motivates you to open to relocation?

Q. Given a situation, if some day you are sitting at your office and Quora sent you a mail saying that " We liked your Writings and we want to write for us as a content writer. The salary will be double what you get in TCS." What will you do?
Situation-based Questions. If you have to answer them carefully and positively.
That was the last question. After that he greeted me saying "Nice to meet You!! ".
Uffff !!! I was very much happy because My hard work paid off. My overall evaluation was more than I expected. I got my Offer Letter after 11 days of the Interview. So have patience.
For written rounds:
For Aptitude download, an app called Aptitude Guru. Its a Fabulous app with 5 mock TCS papers and 100-word meanings. And you will get the aptitude questions according to Topics and according to labels like easy, medium, hard or Miscellaneous. It's a perfect app. I practiced a lot from here. Very good app for CRT.
Questions from IndiaBix, PrepInsta including coding aptitude.
Just be pro at a single programming language like Java, C++, OOPs concepts with the real-world example.
Go through your Projects thoroughly. Have Proper Knowledge regarding your Projects. You have to be ready to answer all the questions that can arise from your mentioned Projects. I prepared Very well. I was prepared for java as well. Make your resume very clear and attractive than others. Just be clear about what you want and what you want from the Interviewer to be asked. Do not be Over-Confident. Be Stress-Free. Relax. Practice Hard. Luck will favor you. The Synergy Happens when Right opportunity meets right Preparation so always keep your self-ready to right opportunity with right Preparation. Work Hard and manage your time. That is the key to success.
