TCS Interview Experience - 9/9/18

Posted By : Pratik Wadekar Rating : +91, -5
I cleared the National Qualifier Test held on 2/9/18 and within one week was informed that TCS was going to conduct interviews at Yantra Park, Thane.

Interview was held on 9/9/18.

My reporting was by 9.00AM. I reached there by 8.00AM.

After all the formalities I was allowed to enter the Auditorium.

Immediately, we were informed that interviews are going to start in 10-15 minutes. It was around 10.00AM.

We were told that 2 rounds would be conducted.

1. Technical Round and Managerial Round (TR & MR).
2. HR Round (only after clearing 1st round).

They called our names one by one.
My name was called around 12.30PM.

Unlike others all my three rounds were conducted separately.

Round 1: Technical Round (TR).

My TR round was conducted by a lady.
First she asked me to introduce my self. Then she asked what were my strength and weaknesses.

Later she asked for my resume and started to ask questions based on resume.
I have done Angular certification so she asked me what I learned in Angular.

She asked me what languages I was familiar with, I answered C and JAVA.
She told me write program to find whether a number was prime or not.

Also she asked me to write program for Fibonacci Series.
She asked how can we generate random numbers in C and JAVA.

Later she moved onto SQL.
She told me to explain all the 4 types of joins in SQL viz. Inner Join, Left and Right Outer Join, Full Outer Join.

She asked the difference between Primary Key, Candidate Key, Super Key, and Foreign Key.
Various types of aggregate functions in SQL.

Binary Search and Bubble Sort.
She told me to explain the BE project and Third Year Mini Projects.  (Be thorough with the academic projects you've done!).

What are the features of HTML5 and CSS3 ?
One question related to Software Engineering was put in front of me.

She told me we are designing a Employment Recruitment web app what would be your approach to design the page.
I had answered almost every question and my technical round lasted for around 20-25 minutes.

Round 2: Managerial Round.

The man who took my MR interview asked me to introduce myself. He asked me to explain my BE project.

Also he asked me whether I am willing to relocate. He asked me some routine questions like what is the Annual Turnover of TCS and how many employees are currently working in TCS.  (I was not aware of these figures. ). Then I was asked to wait for HR round.

Round 3: HR Interview.

The HR lady asked me whether I was willing to relocate. Also she asked me why do you want to join TCS. What technologies would you like to work on. She asked my strengths and weaknesses.

Then she told me the results would be communicated with your college.

I received the offer letter. Overall the interview experience was great. In short I would say be thorough with your academic projects and know at least one programming language. Be confident and honest in front of the interviewers. If you don't know anything just honestly answer I don't know it.

All The Best!
