TCS Interview Experience - 31 Jan 2018, Lucknow
I appeared in the off campus on 31 jan 2018.
The pattern of exam was as follows:
1. Email writing (10 min):
This is the easiest part. Some keywords are provided and you have to write the mail using those. Just remember don't change the tense.
2. Quantitative aptitude (60 minutes):
This section contained questions mostly on time and work, Ratio and proportion, probability, permutation and combination, percentage.
I would recommend you to solve the papers from Indiabix and can also refer R.S Agrawal. I had attempted 20 questions out of 30. So, don't panic if you are not able to solve every question.
3. Technical questions (20 minutes):
This section contained very simple questions of C mostly. You could solely rely on Indiabix technical section for cracking this section.
I got the results on 2 Feb and was selected for the Interview.
The interview was on 13 Feb. There were 30 panels and only one interview (TR+MR+HR).
It went like this.
1. Tell me about yourself?
2. What is your Favourite subject?
I told DBMS
3. What is self join and inner join?
4. What is Truncate?
5. What is the difference between drop and delete?
6. In which programming language you are comfortable?
7. Name the 7 layers in OSI model?
8. Write a program on accepting a string and displaying the count of vowels?
9. There is a cube painted red. You cut the cube horizontally and vertically two times. How many pieces of cube would be there with only one face painted red?
- Answer is 6.
10. 3 strength and weakness?
11. Are you ready to relocate?
They checked and documents and I left for the day.
I received their mail on 19 Feb 2018 with my offer letter. My suggestion is they are not looking for a technical geek. You must know some basics but confidence is the utmost important thing.
All the best everyone.
