Tata Consultancy Services Interview Pattern - January 23, 2016

Posted By : Priya R Rating : +497, -21
Hi TCS Aspirants,

I have read some of the IndiaBix TCS interview experiences, which helped me to get placed in TCS. I thought my experience will be helpful for others during the interview process.

I'm a EEE student 2015 batch. I Attended TCS off campus drive for 2015 batch.

Our written test was scheduled on 2nd December 2015, due to flood in Chennai and coastal areas in Tamil nadu its postponed to 23rd January 2016. I got some more time for preparation.

1st Round of TCS interview process is Written test Total timing 90 minutes.

1) Email writing- Verbal ability:

Timing is 10 minutes, we should develop the hints based on the given situation.

Tips:

- Use all the given words.
- Don't change the tense.
- Don't forget to sign in and sign off as Dear Mr.___.

With regards,
Name.

Use minimum of 50 words and Maximum of 70 words.

2) Aptitude test- Quantitative ability:

Timing is 80 minutes which has 28, 1 mark question and 2 star question, Totally 30 question.
I prepared through websites like IndiaBix which helped me a lot to clear the first round.

Tips:

- Don't guess the answer, because there will be negative marking for each wrong answers (I think 0.3mark).
- Attend at-least 15 question with 100% accuracy for eligibility.

After 1 week, I got a mail that I cleared the first round asked to attend the second round in Chennai on 4th Feb.

2nd Round is Interview.

There will be 2 rounds.

1) Technical interview and MR.
2) HR.

But I got all the three in one round (i.e  TR+HR+MR). My interview smooth and took for 20 minutes, I went inside at 11:30 am after completing the process I was called for the interview around 12:30 pm.

Me: Good afternoon Everyone!! (there are 3 member so only)
TR: Good afternoon, Take your seat.

HR: Hi, okay tell me about yourself?
Me: Told (Add your skills and awards achieved to it, Highlight yourself and make them feel that your fit for the job i.e Showcase your talent).

I have done lots of paper presentation in my college so they asked about that (If you have any mention that in your resume it will help you to get placed).

HR: Lots of paper presentation, you seems to skilled and talented.
Me: I love to do Presentation and public speaking.

HR: Tell me about Paper presentation?
Me: Told.

HR: Why TCS?
Me: Told (Highlight their achievements and awards, their activity and show your passionate towards the industry) After telling all the three in the panel is completely impressed and smiling.

HR: Why software from EEE background?
Me: Told (Give genuine reasons that why you want to join).

TR: What is difference between Pointers and Array?
Me: Told.

TR: Do you know SQL?
Me: No sir. (If you don't know the answer just say you don't know but you're willing to learn)

TR: What is foreign key? How to create table?
Me: I don't have any idea about SQL sir.

MR: Tell me about your project?
Me: Told.

MR: So you went to ISRO, tell me your experience (As I mentioned in my resume).
Me: Told. During that time RH-200 rocket is launched.

MR: Is that happened coincidentally or you planned for it?
Me: We asked ISRO regarding rocket launch, they allowed as to watch it, so we planned our visit accordingly.

And they asked me about my sports activity.

TR: Do you have any questions for us?
Me: Asked.

But TR asked MR to answer my question, he said, I want to ask you some more question before answering.

MR: Why should I hire you?
Me: Told.

MR: How confident are you?
Me: Told.

TR: Okay, Thank you. You can wait for the results.
Me: Thank you, I had a great time here.

Unfortunately they didn't answer my question.

After one week I got my offer letter through mail. I'm happy to be a part of prestigious industry TCS.

Tips:

- Be bold and confident.
- Be Genuine.
- Don't hesitate to say "Don't know sir, if you really don't know the answer.

"Right opportunity needs Right Preparation".

Be prepared and also don't sounds like you already know answer for question (Don't sounds like scripted).

Previous off campus drive I couldn't clear the 1st round but now I am successfully got the offer. If you are not getting an offer don't take it as setback learn from the failure, work on it rectify your mistake.

You don't get the opportunities very often, If you got grab it like a hell, put your 100% on it, you will get the result.

All the very best. See you in TCS!!
