Tata Consultancy Services Interview Experience - 8th October,2015 University Institute Of Technology, Burdwan
I am delighted to say that I have been placed in TCS from campus placement drive on 8th October. Now, I want to help you all guys from all over India. I am going to elaborate every details which I went through during the TCS placement drive. But, here are some info which you need to know before reading the whole section. It is as follows,
INFO- TCS has an eligibility criteria that student belonging to TOP 5 are not obliged to appear for the Aptitude Round. Well this condition for my college and it varies from college to college. Regarding eligibility of your college you can inquire it from you TPO cell or from your seniors. Now, moving on to selection procedure I would like to say that it consists of two phases-
a) Email writing + Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning.
b) Technical + HR + MR Interview.
a) Email writing + Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning (QA).
One needs to write an email within 70-100 words within 10 minutes. Follow the keywords and use them as it is. Its very simple but tactful.
Well, there would be 30 questions for which 80 minutes will be allotted to you. There would be 2 question out of 30, which are star marked i.e they consists more weightage than other remaining questions. It is must for you to clear the QA round. -ve marking is there. They never disclose the cut-off marks for QA, but in my college it was near about 18 or 19. So prepare best for it. You need to follow the website of Campusgate and IndiaBix, where they have set of more than 20+ question papers. I assure, you will get some common questions, which will turn out to be a huge factor for you to clear the QA round. I got near about 14 question in common.
After clearing the QA round, you will get a day off and after one day the Interview phase will undergo. It is very hectic.
b) Technical + HR + MR Interview.
One needs to wait more than few hours to hear their name being called for interview which exactly what happened to me. I got my call at 4 pm in the evening. I am going to write my experience as follows,
Me- Good afternoon Sir.
Interviewer- Good afternoon, sit down.

I- Do you have any question from us?
M- Yes Sir, as this is my first interview I would like to know how I fared?
I- You need to improve your concepts even though concept learning is a relative term, you need to be aware of new technologies, that's enough.
M- Thanks a lot Sir. It was a huge privilege for me to learn some unknown concepts from you. :)
After 5 minutes only I was called for HR round, in this round they check your capability of stress management and presence of mind.
I- Sit Down.
M- Thank you Sir, Good Afternoon.
I- Asked about my inconsistent marks personal questions and problems, if any, regarding late shift or relocation.
Well, to be fair this round is all on you. They apply several techniques to make you nervous, but don't be. Be affirmative and say gently and smartly. Improve your communication if you are deficient in it and most of all be confident and honest. Have believe on yourself. You can do anything.
On my experience they look for 20% technical, 50% personality and communication skills, 30% presence of mind in you.
Best of luck to all of you, I hope you have got some assistance with my experience elaboration :).
