Hi friends,

I am Gurudas K S from KLE College of engineering and technology Belgaum, Karnataka. Recently TCS conducted our campus drive for 3 days from 1st Oct to 3rd Oct 2015. The whole process was very long and hectic. Almost 400 students had appeared in first round and only 287 students got selected for next rounds.

There were 4 rounds.

1. Aptitude test :

First round was of 2 sections, email writing and aptitude test (Quantitative test). In email writing, a students are expected to write an email within 10 minutes on a specific scenario using all the words / phrases provided in the question. In aptitude test maximum questions were form campus gate and m4math websites. Apart from that there were some questions which were moderately tough. I did 23 questions and I heard that the cut off was about 16. Luckily I got selected in this round.

2. Technical round (TR) :

As I am a Computer science student many questions were on C, C++, java, data structures and Dbms. The technical interview started with my introduction. I gave very short introduction with my name, place where I belong to, my qualifications, my strengths and weakness that was all what I mentioned in my introduction.

Then the interviewer asked me tell me about your projects? Prepare well for this question, this question is sure question which they frequently ask in TR.

What was your role in the project?

Which is your favorite subject?

I said I like C language. So he asked almost all question on C only.

What is pointers?

Is there any difference between functions and subroutines? Then he asked me some programs to write like add two numbers without using arithmetic operator, program on Fibonacci series which was quite easy for me. Then he asked some questions on java, I said sir I am still learning java so I don't know much about java. You should always tell them the truth don't waste their time if you don't know the answer. Guys I wanna tell you that these interviewers was very friendly, it was like we are speaking to any friend, they made interview very comfortable. So there is no need to worry or to take tension. All you have to do is just give your best.

My TR lasted for 20 min, then I came outside the interview room.

Again I got selected for MR round. They called me for MR, 5 min after TR round.

3. Managerial Round (MR) :

This round is very much similar like TR round. Here they just cross verify your answers which you had given during you TR. The MR person will be having some feedback from TR person, so he already knows some things about you. Again the first question was tell me about yourself.

This time with more confidence I gave my introduction. Then he asked me, Gurudas if you get placed in TCS would you work in night shifts. I said yes sir, I will definitely do. Then he said but it can affect your heath, I answered his question. Here they just check your personality towards work on the basis of your answer. Then many question he asked like,

Will you relocate if you have to join TCS?

What is your hobbies?

Why you want to join TCS?

Then he asked me Gurudas you have such a good percentage in Computer Science then why you don't go for higher studies. I said, sir, I think using my educational skills to the best of my abilities to achieve company's goal is very much similar to continuing studies. I want to practice and implement whatever I had studied during my 4 year of engineering. The MR person was fully impressed by my answer. My MR round completed like this.

After 15 min I was called for HR round.

4. HR round :

In HR all question were very basic like tell me about yourself, tell me anything which is not in your resume, why you want to join TCS, will you do night shifts, will you relocate If you get placed.

These all question was just to check your confidence level and you communication skills.

I was the first person who finished with all rounds one after another. Otherwise people had been waiting for their turn from long hours.

The people who cleared TR and MR got placed in TCS. HR round was just time pass. Finally at 8 pm they done with interviewing all students. They took almost 1 hour to announce the results. Out of 287 students 224 got placed in TCS campus drive.

That's all. This is my whole interview experience and I'm proud to say that I got placed in TCS and even received my offer letter.

All the very best to all.

Thank you!
