Hi, I attended the TCS off campus interview on 13th March 2015 at Rajarhat campus, Gitanjali Park, Kolkata.
I had three interviewers in my panel. For me TR, MR and HR was taken at one go (Luckily!!!).
TR:
The technical questions were mainly from C and DBMS,
DBMS:
- I was given a relation schema:
- STUDENT {Roll_Number, Name, Subject_Opted (multi valued attribute)}.
- The questions were based on this schema.
What is Normalization?
What is 1NF form? Decompose the table into 1 NF form?
What is 2NF form? Decompose the table into 2 NF form?
What does 3NF form say?
What do you mean by transitive dependency in the definition of 3NF? Decompose the table in 3NF form?
(They will try to confuse you. Stay confident!!)
What is trigger?
What is a schedule deadlock? How can you prevent this? What is 2-PL protocol in this context?
C Programming
Write a program in C using Recursive Function.
Predict the output of the code:
if(!null)
printf(" Hye ");
else
printf(" Hello ");
What will be the output of the code:
.
.
Int a=15, b=20, c=5:
printf("%d%d%d");
.
.
HR & MR:
Tell yous something to describe yourself.
Why TCS?
Where do you see yourself five years from now?
Why do you want a switch to IT? (as I am from EIE department)
How are you preparing yourself for a switch to IT?
Why don\'t you join a core company?
If you don\'t land a job in TCS, what will you do? (I told them that I have been placed In Infosys and Wipro. I will be joining Infosys, then)
If you are already placed and have job offer in hand, why are you opting for TCS?
Are you aware of the TCS service agreement?
Are you comfortable with working in night shifts?
You won\'t be given an option to choose your work department. Are you okay with it?
Are you flexible enough to relocate, as you can be placed anywhere in India?
I thought this would help you, so I shared my experience. All the best to you guys.
