Placement Papers - TCS

Hi all, My name is Kartik chandwaskar and I attended TCS off campus drive. TCS written was held on 20 February.

There were 3 sections.

1) Email writing.
2) 28 questions of aptitude.
3) 2 questions of aptitude which contains more marks.

Email writing was simple. They had given certain words and by including them we've to write an email. The word limit was minimum 50 words and maximum word limit were not mentioned in that. But I think that 50-75 words are considerable.

Next came aptitude round. There was 30 questions and the topics that are covered in the test are.

1) Ratio and proportion.
2) Profit and loss.
3) Arithmetic progression.
4) Averages.
5) Percentage.
6) Mixtures and allegations.
7) Probability.
8) Permutations and combinations.
9) Speed and time.
10) Train related problems.

Not a single questions related to English was asked.
I cleared the written test and my interview got scheduled on 18 march 2015.

First was my Technical round.

TR: What are the programming languages that you know?
Me: Told.

TR: What is JDBC and what are types of drivers used for connectivity?
Me: Told.

Then he asked me about my project.

TR: Explain your project?
Me: Explained.

TR: What is mvc in jsp and draw its diagram and show its workflow. ?
Me: Explained.

TR: How you provided security among various actors in your project?
Me: Explained.

TR: What are sessions in jsp?
Me: Explained.

TR: How memory management is done in java?
Me: Told.

TR: What are templates in c++.
Me: Told.

TR: What are the properties of OOP?
Me: Told.

TR: Tell me about inheritance?
Me: Told.

TR: Tell me exact definition of encapsulation?
Me: Told.

TR: What are the getter and setter methods in OOP?
Me: This was the only question I was not able to answer.

TR: What is DAS and NAS? (I mentioned emc certificate so he asked me this ques).
Me: Told.

Then Came MR and HR. My TR MR and HR was done in same time.

MR: Why you scored less marks in physics in 12?
Me: Told.

MR: Then he asked for introduction.
Me: Told.

MR: Then he gave me a situation where I have to handle clients.
Me: Told.

MR: Why TCS? (this is an important questions).
Me: Told around 6-7 points.

MR: Then he asked me about relocation, night shifts, medical problems, and they also checked my documents and they also discussed about bond agreement.

My TR, MR, HR was done at a time and it lasted around 30 minutes.

Finally on 30 march 2015 got the offer letter.
Be confident and remember resume is your key revise it.
