Tata Consultancy Services Interview Experience - kakinada, September 4, 2014
I am from JNTU kakinada studying M.Tech 1st year CSE, recently I experienced TCS interview.
There is an online Test for the rest of the candidates excluding TOP 5 in our class.
It consists of VERBAL ABILITY 10 mins and ANALYTICAL ABILITY 80 mins.
Verbal ability includes email writing and.
Analytical ability includes aptitude purely quant.(better to prepare previous papers, RS Agarwal and Arun Sharma).
I was shortlisted in written test and called for the technical interview.
There are 2 people in panel.
The questions are like this:
1) Tell me about urself.
2) Why you joined M.Tech?
3) What are the subjects in M.Tech?
4) What difference you find in M.Tech and B-Tech?
5) Why there is 1year gap between B-Tech and M.Tech?
In my application I kept I know C, Java, sql & pl/sql?
6) What are datastructures?
7) What are collections in java?
8) What is stored procedure?
9) He asked about my project and I explained him he asked questions in that for about 10mins?
10) What are the technologies you learnt?
11) What are exceptions in java?
12) What is sdlc lifecycle?
13) What is rdbms. And mention some softwares you use for rdbms?
14) What are innerjoins and outerjoins?
The whole technical round went for half an hour.
Luckily I got shortlisted for TR and MR round.
The questions are like this:
I wished both of them and they offered seat.
Hr: Said start.
I'm confused and clarified about to tell about myself!
Hr: Smiled and said yeah.
I said about myself.
Hr: What are your achievements?
Hr: What technologies you used in your project?
Hr: Write a statement that shows connectivity of database with java.
I wrote but unclear and said I forgot syntax sir.
Hr: When you have done your miniproject.
In B-Tech 3-2.
Hr: Smiled and said you forgot too early.
Sorry sir, I had little confusion with syntax.
Hr: How you performed your technical round?
Hr: What is your weakness in technical side?
Sir, I have good theoretical knowledge but coming to programming side I'm little bit weak but I'm confident that I can overcome that in future.
Hr: Why should we hire you?
Hr: Are you willing to relocate?
Hr: Ok I'm done and any queries?
Asked how would be training if selected.
Hr: Explained a little bit and said it will be known to you anyways if you are selected.
Thanked both and I went.
After a few days of tension and excitement I got shortlisted and omg! I'm selected.
I'm going to be in family of TCS in some days.
Always keep smiling and Be confident in what you are saying and don't try to manage your answers which you don't know and say sir/madam I don't know and don't get tensed when they ask you some managerial questions they just check your attitude and confidence that's it and you are in.
