TCS PAPER & INTERVIEW - 04 JAN 2010 - CHENNAI

Posted By : Aditya &Nbsp; Rating : +59, -13
Hi Friends

Tcs, Chennai visited our campus SRM University on 4-6 January 2010. As all other students we were expecting the same pattern of TCS what they used to ask in previous years and the current year in other colleges. To the maximum surprise TCS changed the pattern first time in our college and became the second college in India after Sastra University to give us a new pattern.

The pattern goes like this :

35 questions 82 minutes (only one section). It was a combination of Analytical and Aptitude questions.

Negative marking (one third)  no Synonyms no Sntonyms rather no Verbal section.

There were no questions from Barrrons 12th edition i.e. no Critical Reasoning from barron. As a result of change in pattern the results goes like this 1250 appeared in the wriiten test, 427 cleared the written test. 5 top student of circuit branches (6*5=30) were direct shortlisted for interview. so total 427+30=457 appeared for interview out of which 383 were selected finally in tcs. not even a single question were form previous year. So you all should be ready to face this.

Some of the qns that I could recall are as follows

1> 3 dice and 4 coin are tossed together. so what is a sample space?

2> 3x + 4y =15 so what is the slope of line which is perpendicular to this line.?

3> A man covers 27 kms in 9 hrs and return home with a speed of 5 km/hr.what is his average speed for  entire journey?

4> Data sufficiency statement: area of rectangle is 50.so what is the breadth of rectangle?
a)length of rectangle is 10
b)length and breadth differs by 4
both a and b is required. Or only a is sufficient or only b is sufficeient. Or a and b s independently sufficient?

5> data sufficiency statement: perimeter of rectangle is 60. so what is the area of rectangle?
a)length of rectangle is 10
b)length and breadth differs by 4
both a and b is required. Or only a is sufficient or only b is sufficeient. Or a and b s independently sufficient?

6> There are first 20 numbers.what is the probability of selecting a even no such that the no is less than 7?

7> A man covers 30  kms  in 7 hr.how much efficieny should it increase so that it travels a same distance in 4 hours?

8> Two sides of triangle are 14 and 16.hat could be the third side?
Hint:sum  of two sides is alayz > third side.

9> One side of a isocleles triangle and perpendicular to the base is given.so what is the base of a triangle?
