Each of the following questions consists of a set of three figures X, Y and Z showing a sequence of folding of apiece of paper. Figure (Z) shows the manner in which the folded paper has been cut. These three figures are followed by four answer figures from which you have to choose a figure which would most closely resemble the unfolded form of figure (Z).

Agree @HP.

Option 1 should be the correct answer. You are taking reflections while unfolding. Start unfolding from the last figure and then move backwards to the first figure. On the first unfolding (reflection) you get 2 circles more, and in the second unfolding you take a reflection of already present 4 circles hence you get 4 more circles now.

So, in total 8 circles must be there, count properly and eliminate the options.

Imagine you are holding square paper folded as a triangular punched paper.

Now try folding it backwards.

You will get the answer as option 1.

Option 3 will only be correct in certain cases where the triangle is positioned in certain directions.

Option 1 is correct even when it is rotated in whatever direction.
