How it is?
That there is two square with two black circles in inner. So either in third or second the inner portion of the circle should be white than it will be correct. So, the answer will be (C) only not (D).

If this was true though the rule would apply only vertically, not horizontally.

I think it should be C because as we know it is triangles turn and the previous two shades are white and lined, therefore the 3rd shade remaining would be whole black square. Thank you.
