Discussion Forum : Figure Matrix - Section 2 (Q.No. 8)
Directions to Solve
In each of the following questions, find out which of the answer figures (1), (2), (3) and (4) completes the figure matrix ?
8.
Select a suitable figure from the four alternatives that would complete the figure matrix.

Answer is B, because first two rows third figure is shaded with two parts, and third row third figure should also be shaded with two parts not as a one whole part which is C is wrong answer as some people mentioned above.
Addition to the above comment - And one more point is that - the lines should be in the same direction as in the second figure of the three rows.

The answer is B, the direction of upcoming lines in the third figure should follow the direction of shading lines in the middle figure. It does not matter that if the separating line is visible or not.
If we think the answer is C, it seems that the pattern of lines is totally changed, there is no decency of the middle figure.

It must be B, every 3rd figure in a row is obtained by shading the same area as in 2nd figure and the extra shaded region in the 3rd figure shares a common side with the shaded second figure rather than sharing a common point. The shading in both 2nd and 3rd follows a regular pattern of shading.

According to the explanation, the answer may be 2 but in the given sample the way they solve according to that the answer should be 3 as the line is not visible in the above two rows.

How to judge in between B and C?
The given explanation is indeed sufficient, but the figure matrix given in question is not clearly showing the included line in the shaded portion.

Answer is definitely B as the shading is done in the same manner as in the middle figure but in C it is different.
Observe the direction of shading lines guys.

Option B is correct if we observe the line alignment in the 3rd fig of remaining 2 blocks, it is just the continuation of the 2nd part fig.

I think it must be b, because the bisected line is not visible in above 3rd figures and same should be like in 3rd rows and last figure.

C seems right because of the invisible line between the shaded segments, though B has the right pattern of shading.
