The sheet of paper shown in the figure (X) given on the left hand side, in each problem, is folded to form a box. Choose from amongst the alternatives (1), (2), (3) and (4), the boxes that are similar to the box that will be formed.

Can someone please explain how figure 3 cannot be formed because if we check opposites theory it can be. But it cannot be rotate I am not clearly understand. Thank you. |

The question itself is problematic here. Contrary to the given answer, the only possible option is (3). After folding (X), the face bearing the circle, shaded face and the face bearing the shaded square all lie on adjacent faces. When we are facing the circle, the shaded face comes after the face bearing the shaded square if we move in a clockwise direction. This is possible only with option (3). Please correct this mistake. |

If circle has to appear at top and shaded region on right side, then the surface facing front should be the one bearing the smaller box, not empty. Hence figure 3 is incorrect. |

@All. If you try folding the net upwards and then downwards you get (2) also (3). |
