I think the given logic is wrong because for option 4 to become the answer through this logic, other options must have at least one centre region which is not even there in 2nd and 5th. So, dot-in-centre logic isn't unique to all figures.
So, we can try the logic of seeing the interconnectivity of circles, where except (2), in all the figures, every circle is at least touching every other circle, so 2nd should be correct.

According to me, the answer is 2 because in all the other figures all the three circles are interlocked to each other but not in Fig. 2.

This question must have two correct answers. Option 2 and 4. Because for both the answers their respective justification is correct.

I still think this was somewhat ambiguous because you could argue that in all except figure 2 the three circles touch each other.

In figure 5 the two circle does not interlocked. They just touch each other. So it is option 5.
