The first ip of any network is used to find the network id =1.
And the last ip address is used to broadcast address purpose=1.
So 1+1=2.
For every network, the no of ip addresses possible is = max-2.

See 2 is taken because 1 is for initial(start bit) and another 1 is for broadcast(final).
So 1+1=2 that's why -2 is taken in every class.

Class A Provide a maximum number of hosts. Because in class A there is 3 hosts portions and only one Network portion.

Like network.host.host.host (255.0.0.0). OR Class A can provide max 16777216 address.
