Both are found in the mouth but sanguis is not involved in cavity formation, as a matter of fact, it creates and environment that is hostile to other bacteria that do cause cavities.

Both are found in an oral cavity and S.Mutans forms biofilm and forms dental plague, when dislodged during dental procedures without proper antibiotic prophylaxis, they tend to cause bacterial endocarditis.

Both are found in an oral cavity and S. Mutans but S.Mutans cause dental caries.

S.Sanguinis is abundant in the oral commensal which can cause disseminated human infections if it gains access to the blood stream.
