The answer is A : diplomonads like Giardia.

Giardia lamblia is a binucleated, flagellated protozoan parasite that inhabits the upper small intestine of its vertebrate hosts. The entire life cycle, which can be completed in vitro, is simple with cycling between a vegetative trophozoite and a highly resistant cystic form. The parasite is one of the earliest diverging eukaryotes known and more than 95% of the genome is sequenced. This makes Giardia an excellent model system for studies of basic eukaryotic processes like cell differentiation.

Prokaryotic cells are classified into two domains.

1. Archaea.
2. Eubacteria.

The Archaea have unique characteristics but share its features with Eubacteria & with 3rd domain, Eukarya, too.

That's why Archaea is considered to be the oldest eukaryotic organisms.

At the pre-historic time, there were meteor showers and other natural disasters.

Archaea bacterias are the only to have been survived in that climate as Carl Woese differentiated it in his 7 kingdom classification.

So they can be the first one.

Archaea are prokaryotes. However Archaea have characteristics of both prokaryotic and eukaryotic characters. Hence it seems to be the oldest eukaryotes or forerunners of eukaryotes.

Since Archaea belong to kingdom of single microorganism, with no cell nucleus, their are considered to be the oldest prokaryotic organisms not eukaryotes.

Diplomonads are the oldest Eukaryotic organism.

They are parasites in humans.

Apart from this Protists, fungi and animals are also Eukaryotic.

Archae is a prokaryote not a eukaryote. In the question, it was asked about the bacteria which was bacteria which resembles archae.

In archaea, an absence of nuclear membrane temperature. It is the unique feature that distinguishes them from bacteria.

Why it is the oldest Eukaryote? Archaea is a Prokaryotic along with bacteria. Eukaryotes are FUNGI/ANIMALS.

Archaea have some character related to eukaryotic but it can't be considered under eukaryotic organisms.
