For the selection of endospore-forming bacteria, One-gram of sediment (or 1 mL of water)
from each sample was diluted in sterile sea water. Each diluted sample was pasteurised (heat 10 mm at 80°C and cool rapidly on ice). Dilutions were cultured
aerobic and anaerobically on different media (Table 2).

Dilutions were cultivated aerobically on SWC and NA-SW. All plates were incubated aerobic (except YEG-SW) and anaerobically.
