When a substance is added to a liquid medium which inhibits the growth of unwanted bacteria and favours the growth of wanted bacteria, it is known as enrichment medium.
When a substance is added to a solid medium which inhibits the growth of unwanted bacteria but permits the growth of wanted bacteria, it is known as a selective medium.
Certain media are designed in such a way that different bacteria can be recognised on the basis of their colony colour. Various approaches include incorporation of dyes, metabolic substrates etc so that those bacteria that utilise them appear as differently coloured colonies. Such media are called differential media or indicator media.
So, answer D is correct.
