Saphophytes are used for those algae which are found on the surface of soil examples are Voucheria. Botrydium.

While the cryptophytes are algae occurring below the surface of soil examples are nostoc Anabaena in field of paddy.

So,I think none is right.

Algae is found everywhere except soil because the is too little moisture on the soil while they are aquotic organisms.

Answer B (Soil) is correct. Spirogyra is common example of Algae in stream and pounds and Lakes. Thanks.
