Slip gauge is highly accurate block with various length.

This is used against confirming reading on vernier or micrometer.

Slip gauges are one which are mfd to 99.99% accuracy so that we can check the calipers with them.

Slip is accurately calibrated standard block used as reference there why slip gauge preferred rather than feeler gauge.

Slip gauge :- Used to check the accuracy of micrometer, dial indicator calipers.

Feeler gauge:- To check the clearance b/w two mating surface.

Ring gauge:- Used to check the diameter of shaft or students.

Plug gauge:- Used to test the accuracy of holes.
