SINGLE CUT FILES -

Single set of parallel, diagonal rows of teeth
Single-cut files are often used with light pressure to produce a smooth surface finish or to put a keen edge on knives, shears or saws.

Double-cut: 2 sets of diagonal rows of teeth, Second set of teeth cut in opposite diagonal direction and on top of the first set and on top of the first set and on top of the first set known as upcut. Double-cut file is used with heavier pressure than the single-cut and removes material faster from the workpiece.

Rasp-cut: Series of individual teeth which are formed by a single-pointed tool. It Produces a rough cut that is used primarily on wood, hooves, aluminum, and lead.

Magicut: Single cut teeth divided by angular serrations into shorter cutting edges, which free themselves readily from chips and perform roughing and smoothing at the same time.

A rasp is a coarse form of the file used for coarsely shaping wood or other material. Typically a hand tool, it consists of a generally tapered rectangular, round, or half-round sectioned bar of case hardened steel with distinct, individually cut teeth. Narrow, pointed tang is common at one end, to which a handle may be fitted.

Rasps come in a variety of shapes - rectangular, round, and half-round - and vary in coarseness from finest, "cabinet", to most aggressive, "wood". They are used in woodworking for rapidly removing material and are easier to control than a drawknife. The rough surfaces they leave may be smoothed with finer tools, such as single or double-cut files.

Farriers use rasps to remove the excess wall from a horse's hoof.

Rasps are used in shaping alabaster. Saws and Chisels are used to rough out alabaster work.

Rasp cut file is a same as single point cutting tool but soft compare to it, So only machining on wood.
