The correct answer is: diamond pointed chisel.
A diamond-pointed chisel is a specialized tool used for cutting keyways, which are narrow slots or grooves in a shaft or hub. The diamond-shaped point allows for precise cutting and helps to prevent the chisel from slipping out of the keyway.
Here's why the other options are incorrect:
- Flat chisel: Used for general-purpose cutting, removing material, and roughing out surfaces, but not suitable for cutting keyways.
- Cape chisel: A type of chisel with a curved or angled edge, used for removing material from curved surfaces or corners, but not ideal for cutting keyways.
- Round nose chisel: Used for cutting and shaping curved surfaces, but not suitable for cutting narrow keyways.
Diamond-pointed chisels are designed specifically for cutting keyways and are typically used in applications such as:
- Machinery repair
- Toolmaking
- Locksmithing
- Precision engineering
The correct chisel choice depends on the specific application and the material being cut.
