The answer is D. compound die.

1- Simple die- only one operation is performed for each strokes of the press ram.
2- Compound die-two or more cutting operation in one station in every strokes of the ram.
3- Combination die-two or more cutting operation in one station in the single strokes of the ram.
4- Progressive die-two or more cutting operation in a different station.

More than one operation may be performed at one station. It is difficult from compound die in that in this die, a cutting operation is combined with a bending or drawing operation, due to that it is called combination die.

In compound die, only cutting operations are performed. Combination die is used for cutting as well as non-cutting operations. C is correct.
