Permeability means to removing air/gasses from the mold. Due to which chances of porosity in casting. Permeability word related to casting process. While molten metal/alloys pour in casting pattern, due hot gasses/air proper casting not produces.

In the sand there are pores through which the gases and the moisture in the sand comes out this property is known as permeability.
