In the case of commercial fuel: It is better to say that they all are not from mineral oils. For instance there is organic fuel oil that is made by using maize cereals.

There are Liquid fuels like Biodiesel and there is real progress in Ethane as fuel also but it has not become commercial because they can be produced their own country without support from oil rich answer powerful countries.
As Indian mechanical Engineers you should take that responsibility to manufacture cars which can run on bio-diesel or solar energy cost-effectively.
