Small to medium power plants (up to 250 MW) generally have BOWL Mill to pulverized the coal in fine powder.
Modern power plant's, i.e 500MW and above have BALL Mills.

If we first dry & then crush the coal by using crushing machine as a result coal size reduces to 25 mm. And when coal is crushed by pulverizing machine (Bowl Mill) and size reduces to fine powder i.e. 200 mesh coal known as pulverized coal. This pulverised coal use in PFBC boiler in thermal power plant.
