When temperature remains constant throughout the process, the process is isothermal.

When temperature remains constant throughout the process of expansion or compression of an ideal gas, the process is called as isothermal process or hyperbolic process because of the following PV = Constant.

The Even hyperbolic process is governed by Boyle's law (PV = C). It satisfies when n = 1.

Pv^0 = c is constant pressure process.
Pv^gamma = adiabatic process.
Pv^infinity = constant volume process.
