The answer is correct because temperature variation takes place inside the system. Any way it won't transfer to outer area hence it has sealed.

Please apply concept of system and surrounding, the temp that is increasing is within the system and system is perfectly insulated. So there is no chances of heat interaction to surroundings.

That indicates dq = 0; So dw = -du.

If temperature of gas changes then how can be this process called adiabatic process?

How can we call it adiabatic process and the temperature change?

Bibekananda mohapatra said:   1 decade ago
Answer is D.

In adiabatic process no heat enters or leave. But in adiabatic compression & expansion the temp should be changes.

As no heat added then dw = 0.

dq = du+dw.
dq = 0, dw = 0.

So du = 0.
=>du = dw.

No heat enters or leaves the system by definition,

The temperature of the gas changes (possible due to internal work done).

The change in internal energy is equal to the mechanical work done (dQ=0).

Temperature of gas is not change.

Adiabatic process there is no change of heat how temperature will change?

In adiabatic process n heat enters or leave, but if system works itself by spending its internal energy then definitely temperature will change, because system did some work but did not take heat from external sources. So it has to spend its internal energy if it is going to do some work.

An adiabatic as no heat added then dw = 0.

dq = du+dw.
dq = 0, dw = 0.

So du = 0.

=> du = dw process the work done is zero.
