A/c to Boyle's law P is inversely proportional to V when temp remains constant.

Manoj said:   1 decade ago
Yes @Vishal pv=c at const. temperature A/c to Boyle's law.

Indra said:   1 decade ago
Yes pv=c at constant temp.

Why is this false in isothermal process pv is constant right?

Alb said:   1 decade ago
Process is given as heated that means there will be change in temperature. So it must be hyperbolic process.

Vishal said:   1 decade ago
Hyperbolic process is also called isothermal process.

Hyperbolic process is called isochoric process.

It is the isothermal process.

And isothermal process is hyperbolic one.

In the gas law, PV = mRT, for a given gas m and are constant. The product of P and V is constant when T is constant. Thus isothermal process (for gas only) is the correct answer.

It is not known why the answer was given is B (ie. NO).

In gas PV = constant. It is an isothermal process and in steam, PV = constant in the wet region is a hyperbolic process and superheated state is the isothermal process. Therefore right answer is "A".
