Damping factor equal to zero is called as un - damping, the damping factor less than unity is called as under-damping, , the damping factor equal to unity is called as critical - damping. , the damping factor more then unity is called as over-damping.

If DF=0 (undamped),
Less than 1=underdamped
More than 1=over damped
If df=1, critical one.
Less than 1=underdamped
More than 1=over damped
If df=1, critical one.
