OPTION C is the correct answer.

Since it occupies less space and inorders to avoid wear and to enable smooth condition spherical shape with flat face follower is useful for automobiles.

Spherical one is better even though knife edge follower is present because the knife edge follower creates vibrations after the edge is blunt whereas in spherical it does not occur.

In automobiles, usually rocker arms are used and as follower pushrods are used. Push rod has usually roller end. So, D will be correct.

I think knife edge follower is used as it is more efficient and the chances of friction is also less.

This type of cam and follower give less sound and less friction due to less surface contact area.
