Flat collar bearing & clutches are working on uniform wear theory.

According to this torque transmitted = (1/2) μ W (r + r).

Flat pivot bearing is working on uniform pressure theory.
T= (2/3) μ W (R).

The frictional torque transmitted in a flat pivot bearing with the assumption of uniform pressure is more as compared to uniform wear.
