The relation between me number of links (l) and the number of binary joints (j) for a kinematic chain having constrained motion is given by l = l - 2. If the left hand side of this equation is greater than the right hand side, then the chain is

@Shivam.

Formula for DOF is;
f= 3*(n-1) - 2*P1 - 1*P2.
Formula for determining Kinematic chain, locked chain and UNCONSTRAINED CHAIN is
n=2*P - 4.
or
j = (3/2) * n - 2.

Shouldn't LHS be F (Degrees of Freedom)? Please explain.

(1) LHS > RHS - LOCKED CHAIN.

(2) LHS = RHS - KINEMATICS CHAIN.

(3) LHS < RHS - UNCONSTRAINED CHAIN.
