Each part of a machine, which moves relative to some other part, is known as a kinematic link (or simply link) or element. In option (C) crankshaft and flywheel have no relative motion so they make a entity which have relative motion to other parts. So the answer (C) is correct.

Options A B D are an example of kinematic pairs that have relative motion between them.

Answer: c.

Explanation: in a reciprocating steam engine, piston, piston rod and crosshead constitute one link ; connecting rod with big and small end bearings constitute a second link ; crank, crank shaft and flywheel a third link and the cylinder, engine frame and main bearings a fourth link.

Each part of a machine which moves relative to some other part, is known as a kinematic link. The piston and cylinder in a steam engine, form a pair and the motion of the piston is limited to a definite direction relative to the cylinder irrespective of the direction of motion of the crank.

Each part of a machine, which moves relative to some other part, is known as a kinematic link or element. A link may consist of several parts, which are rigidly fastened together, so that they do not move relative to one another.

The motion of each part is related to one another is known as kinematics link. So, the motion of current and flywheel between the is relative to one another.

Hence, the option "C" is correct.

Option A, B & D are example of kinematic pair because there's a relative motion between them. Flywheel is attached to crankshaft hence It's a kinematic link. So, C is the right answer.

There is no relative motion between the crankshaft and flywheel. So both of them form a single kinematic link. So, Option C is correct.

A is correct. Because flywheel remains to fix on crank shaft with help of key, and no has relative motion each other. C answer wrong.

C is the correct option. To be a kinematic link, relative motion doesn't exist. That's why A, B and D is wrong.
