In many textbooks, it is mentioned >=15 is a thick cylinder.

If dia=15x thickness, the internal dia is bigger, the thickness is lower. Right?

@Robert.

If d/t>20 then t/d<1/20.

Robert said:   6 years ago
t/d>1/20 for thick.
t/15t>1/20.
1/15>1/20 so its a thick one.

It is a thin cylinder. Say thickness is 10mm and dia is 15X thickness= 150mm. So how can it be a thick cylinder?

If. t >=D/20-------- >>>>>>>thick.
t < D/20--------->>>>>>>thin.
A/c question, t=D/15---This implies it is a thick cylinder.

d/t>20 means thin so here 15 that's why it is a thick cylinder.

Yes. This is thin plate.

This is thin cylinder not thick.
