Ln welded joint, we are adding the material hence for same load condition it has more strength than riveted joint as it has provided (riveted joint) has provided holes which is removal of material and indication of weaker cross section.

Answer is right because in welded joint no hole present so no stress concentration induced we added extra material in welded joint.

In welding, extra material is added so the area of the material is increases so stress decrease because of stress = load/area.
In rivets because of hole stress concentration is present.

Riveted joints are more stronger than welded joint because it has more strength i.e. to withstand the fatigue load.
