Since, shear efficiency = shear strength/solid plate strength.
So, shear strength = fs*(P-d)*t and solid plate strength = P*t*fs.
So, 50% = fs*(p-d)*t/P*t*fs.
So, 1/2 = (P-d)/P.
So, 1/2 = 1-d/P.
That is, d/P = 1/2.
So d/P = 0.50 answer.
So, shear strength = fs*(P-d)*t and solid plate strength = P*t*fs.
So, 50% = fs*(p-d)*t/P*t*fs.
So, 1/2 = (P-d)/P.
So, 1/2 = 1-d/P.
That is, d/P = 1/2.
So d/P = 0.50 answer.

Efficiency of rivet = 1-(d/p).
0.5 = 1-(d/p).
d/p = 0.5.
0.5 = 1-(d/p).
d/p = 0.5.

Efficiency = ps/p.
Where ps = shear failure and p = pitch; So answer is 0.5.
Where ps = shear failure and p = pitch; So answer is 0.5.
