The answer is correct.

As for temporary fastening or Joining, Fasteners, Press fit, Cotter joints, and Knuckle joints are used.

And for permanent joining, Welding, Brazing, soldering, Riveting and Couplings are used.

According to NIMI, Rivet is Semi-permanent, but other sources say Rivet is Permanent.

Now, For Permanent Joints, when it is needed to separate the parent metals, both the joining material and parent metals both will be damaged. Viz. Welding.

Whereas, in Semi-permanent joints, only joining metal will be Damaged, but the parent metals won't. Viz. Soldering.

From the above-mentioned points, it is already clear that for Temporary joints neither Parent metals, nor joining material will be damaged.

From this point of view, Rivet comes under Semi-permanent joint.

No, rivets are considered in "semi permanent" fastening category.

None of the above.
