Strain energy is the energy absorbed by a member when work done by load deforms the member.

Total strain energy stored in a body up to fracture point is toughness.

And strain energy stored upto within the elastic limits is resilience and up to the elastic limit is proof resilience.

And proof resilience per unit vol is modulus of resilience.

Resilience is total strain energy per unit volume and not just total strain energy.
