Resilience is the correct answer.

Proof : Resilience is the max value of resilience. It is the area under the load-deformation diagram up to the elastic limit.

Modulus of resilience is strain energy stored up to elastic limit per unit volume. It is the area under the stress-strain diagram up to the elastic limit.

Resilience is the ABILITY, to store energy when deformed within elastic limit.

Strain energy STORES the energy when deformed within elastic limit.

According to the question "The energy STORED in a body when strained within elastic limit is known as" Strain energy.

Resilience is the energy stored by the body within the proportional limit (limit upto which stress and strain is proportional) , whereas strain energy is the energy stored by the body within the elastic limit (where the body can regain its original position).

The resulting strain energy gives an index of the materials ability to store or absorb energy without permanent deformation is called the Modulus of Resilience.

The resilience is the ability of the body to absorb the energy. Hence answer is strain energy.

Starin energy = energy sotred in the body upto plastic limit.

Resilience = energy stored in the elastic limit.

Proof resilence = max energy stored in the elastic limit.

Modules of resilence = energy stored per volume of body tha is volume of resilence.

Resilience is the ability of the material to store energy when deformed within elastic limit and release energy when unloaded.

Where strain energy is the energy stored when deformed within elastic limit.

The difference is ability and stored energy.

Actually every book gives their different theories, even some books copy other books. So, this question and answer Strain energy is as per RS Khurmi, but acc. To RK Rajput, it must be resilience.

That's the main problem with these stupid authors.

Strain energy - the internal energy stored within the elastic limit,
Resilience - total strain energy stored within elastic limit.
Proof reliance - max strain energy stored.
Modulus of resilience- proof reliance/vol.

Maximum strain energy stored with elastic limit is called proof resilience.

Strain energy stored with elastic limit is called resilience.

Energy stored with elastic limit and shape change is called strain energy.

Resilience-ability of a material to absorb energy in the elastic region when it is strained.

Strain energy-it is the ability of material to absorb energy when it is strained.
